Kids' Boutique Clothing Size Guide - by Brand and Season

We know: you see something your child will love online and you want to order it for him or her, but you are not sure what size to get, especially from a kids' boutique with 40+ different brands. You don't want to go through the hassle of exchanging (though our new return app makes it super easy since you can print our your shipping label, and exchanges are completely free!)

Every kids' designer clothing brand runs differently, and within each collection each style runs differently.

To solve your problem, I have created this IN SEASON STYLE GUIDE for our most popular brands.  My notes are based on watching kids try on the clothing in our store on a daily basis, and on how the clothes fit my kids.

PAPER WINGS SPRING 2018

Paper Wings clothing generally runs large.  We have been carrying this brand for 11 years and are the largest stockist in the world, so we are used to their sizing patterns. They cut things generously because the designers of Paper Wings believe that children's clothing should be made for kids to grow.  That's why they make a lot of their styles adjustable with drawstrings and ties, and why many of their styles can last for a year or even two.  The fit is also meant to be looser.  This is again a philosophy of the designers, not a mistake.

JOAH LOVE SPRING 2018

We have long been the largest stockist of Joah Love for boy and girl in the USA, so we well know this brand!  It used to run quite small, but the sizing for the most part has been adjusted over the years.

This season, we found one notable sizing discrepancy.

All of the Joah Love skorts run extremely small.  We recommend sizing up 2 full sizes.  My size 7 daughter wears a size 10 in these skorts (Joah Love does not make a 7); the 8 is still too small.

We find the boy shorts  this season to run slightly small in both waist and length.

Otherwise, we are finding Joah Love both boy and girl to run true to size this Spring.
